Art, currently serving his fifth four-year term as a School Board Member, is married to Lili, co-author of the international recognized Music Together program, and professor at Rowan University. He earned a Bachelors degree and Masters degree from SUNY at Buffalo in Music Education, and another Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision from Pace University in New York City. Art holds a Ph.D. from Temple University in the Psychology of Music. He grew up in the lower east-side of New York City and for eight years taught music in Brooklyn, New York. His first love is music and prior to teaching he performed regularly with various Jazz, Latin and Disco bands. He and his family have lived in Maple Glen since 1987 and he is retired from the New Jersey State Department of Education. Art currently serves as President of the Joint Operating Committee for the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology. He has been active member of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation where he served as President for over 10 years. He is currently a director on the Foundation. Art was elected President of the Board in December, 2013.
Sara Johnson Rothman, Vice President

Sara was appointed to the Board in February of 2014. She is married to Scott and has 2 children. They recently moved to Upper Dublin in large part due to the excellent reputation of the school district. Sara is the proud product of public schools from kindergarten through law school. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.A. in History (2001) and Temple University – Beasley School of Law (2005). Sara has devoted her career to public service serving as a prosecutor specializing in child abuse until 2012.
Amy Francek is a 17-year resident of Upper Dublin. She is a speech-language pathologist in a neighboring district.
Amy has served on the Educational Advisory Committee (EAC), the Gifted Curriculum Review Committee, and UD G&T (Gifted and Talented Students & Families) subcommittee of the Excellence and Equity Consortium within UDSD..
Amy received her Master’s Degree at Temple University and her BA in English at Franklin & Marshall College. Amy has previously served as President of the Alumni Association of F&M.
Amy is the proud mom of two sons (Luke, 6th grade/Jay, 2nd grade) at Sandy Run and Jarrettown. She is married to her college sweetheart Peter and is an avid Philadelphia sports fan that enjoys traveling, cooking, music, and dance.

Vanessa, mother of Brian, who was a member of the class of 2008 at Upper Dublin High School has been married to her husband, Michael for 31 years and they have resided in Upper Dublin since 1995. Vanessa is a 1983 graduate of Denison University. Vanessa serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairs the Personnel Committee. In addition, she is President of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation. She was elected to the School Board in November of 2007.

Robert and his wife Wonmin have resided in Upper Dublin since 2005 choosing to live in Upper Dublin because of its schools. Together, they have three children in the District. Robert served on the Strategic Planning Committee and coaches several sports teams in Upper Dublin. He holds degrees from the University of California at Irvine (B.A. in Sociology 1996), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity, 1999), Fuller Theological Seminary (Master of Theology in Intercultural Studies, 2007), and Reformed Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry, 2017). Robert has served as lead pastor of Gracepoint Church since 2006.
Joan Ryder Ludwig

Joan and her husband, Rob, have been residents of Upper Dublin since 1988. Their two children, Daniel and Michelle, are both 2005 Upper Dublin graduates. Joan’s 30-year career in human factors and cognitive engineering focused primarily on designing human-computer interfaces and computer-based training. Joan has a Bachelor’s degree from Brown, and a PhD from Brandeis in psychology. She served on the Educational Advisory Committee (EAC) for six years prior to her election to the Board in November 2011.
Stanley J. Ropski
Titia is a high school mathematics teacher in Lower Merion School District. Prior to teaching she worked as a biomedical researcher and was involved in the human genome project and cancer research. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and Psychology and an MSc in Knowledge Based systems. Titia served on the district’s Technology Advisory Committee and the Educational Advisory Committee.
Titia and her husband, Harm, moved to Upper Dublin in 1989 from the Netherlands. Their three children are all recent graduates from Upper Dublin. She coached township soccer and field hockey teams and served on several boaster club boards.

Mark and his wife Michelle have lived in Upper Dublin since 1998. Their two children attend Sandy Run Middle School. Mark has served the District as a member of the Educational Advisory Committee (EAC), Technology Advisory Committee (TAC), Social Communications Policy Committee, and as the vice president of Upper Dublin PAGE (Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education). He has been working at the University of Pennsylvania since 1996, currently specializing in authentication, authorization, identity management, and related information security and privacy issues. His hobbies include photography, motorsports, and skiing.
