Professional Background
Over 28 years of experience as both a middle school and high school principal and as a Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Pladus is beginning his tenth year as the Superintendent of Schools in the School District of Upper Dublin.
Career/Professional Highlights
In January of 1999, Dr. Pladus, as the Principal of Interboro High School, was presented with the "National High School Principal of the Year Award" in Washington, D.C. by the U. S. Secretary of Education Richard Riley and executives from corporate sponsor MetLife and the National Association of Secondary Principals. He is the only principal from Pennsylvania to have been awarded this distinction. Other career highlights and distinctions include the successful 2007 referendum in which the citizens of Upper Dublin approved construction of the new Upper Dublin High School, and being presented with the Outstanding Educator of the Year Award by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce in 2010. He curerently serves as the Syperintendent of Record for the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology and also represents Superintendents on the Montgomery County Advisory Committee for the Human Relations Commission.
