FAQ's

What is eNotify? - eNotify allows users of the website to subscribe to various notification methods, one of which is an email/ListServ. Other features include SMS messages (text messages) and calendar reminders.

I registered for eNotify. Why am I not receiving any notices? - If you log into your eNotify account and see the appropriate schools checked, then the problem lies with how your home computer or Internet Service Provider handles "suspected" junk mail. A variety of sources have estimated the growth of spam volume to be 20-35% per month since 2006. As a result, Internet Service Providers and spam filtering services have been ramping up their spam filters to be more vigilant than ever. Overall this is a good thing, as it helps keep the real spam out of our Inboxes. But an unfortunate side effect is that an even higher percentage of legitimate emails are going to get unfairly picked off. Make sure you designate the udsd.org domain as a safe sender in your email's junk mail settings.  If the emails are not being delivered to either your junk mail folder or inbox, you may need to contact your ISP and request the udsd.org domain to be marked as "safe." There are a variety of variables that cause a message to be flagged as spam by the ISP, which may allow delivery of the message one time, but not another.

When will the district  be implementing the athletic reminders and alerts? - Currently the high school athletic department uses www.highschoolsportsnet.com for team schedules and updates. There are no plans at this time to move from this system.

Can I receive other notifications other than email? - You can select to be delivered as a text message to your phone, an email, or both. Please note that you may incur applicable fees from your cell phone carrier for which you are responsible.

Does participation in the eNotify system have any relation to the emergency notification system that calls my home for school closings? - No, although the district will be utilizing both means of communication, they are two separate systems.

When will the district begin using eNotify? - The district will be sending information on eNotify effective Monday, April 28, 2008

How long will the old ListServ system still operate? - No new messages will be sent over the old system effective Friday, April 25, 2008 at 5:00 PM. The district will be sending bi-weekly notifications on the old system reminding users to register for the new system until May 9, 2008. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE NEW ENOTIFY SYSTEM. PREVIOUS LISTSERV ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BE TRANSFERRED.
