COMMUNITY AQUATIC PROGRAMS
Community members of all ages have many opportunities during the school year and summer months to participate in instructional programs, certification courses and open recreation swims at the beautiful new Upper Dublin High School Natatorium.
GATE FEE & SEASONAL PASS INFORMATION
DAILY FEES – are collected on the pool deck for Lap Swims/Water Walking, Open Rec Swims and special events or programs where an admission fee is charged.
SEASON POOL PASSES – are available for purchase on the pool deck. Season Pool Passes are good for 20-weeks each (see dates and fees listed below in the UDHS Gate Fees schedule) Season Pass holders are considered “pre-paid” for Lap Swims/Water Walking and Open Rec Swims.
SUMMER SEASON PASSES – are available for purchase on the pool deck. Summer Season Passes are good for 7 weeks, mid-June to early August. Season pass holders are considered "pre-paid" for Lap Swims/Water Walking and Open Rec Swims.
SEASONED CARDINAL PASSES - are available at no charge to UD Residents ages 62+ and may be obtained at the Superintendent’s Office or Upper Dublin Parks & Recreation. ID is required for each SCP cardholder. Showing a SCP on the pool deck allows the cardholder to use of the pool during Lap Swims/Water Walking and Open Rec Swims at no charge. SCP cardholders will be offered additional discounts on other aquatic programs during the school year

GENERAL FACILITY INFORMATION
1. All programs are held at the UDHS Pool located in the UDHS Athletic Complex, 800 Loch Alsh Ave., Fort Washington, PA 19034. Access is from SPARK Drive. From the main lobby, go straight down the center corridor to the locker rooms. Please report to the pool deck to sign-in with the supervisor and/or instructor.
2. Enter / Leave the pool deck from the pool locker rooms. Lockers and showers are available. Please bring your own lock, pool towel and personal shower supplies. All items must be removed from the locker room each day.
3. Spectators will be directed to wait in the Pool Balcony.
4. Water is the only beverage permitted on deck and in the balcony.
5. Please provide supervision of children remaining on site but not involved in aquatic programs.
6. Gyms, the weight room, classrooms and hallways are not available for use by family members and friends waiting for someone involved in an aquatic program Please wait in the spectator balcony or APLEX lobby area.

OPEN REC SWIMS
Enjoy supervised use of the UDHS pool including open swim/play areas, lap lanes and the diving area (1-meter board only). All ages welcome; children ages 7 and under must be accompanied in the pool by an adult age 18+; swim diapers are required for children not yet potty trained. Pay-as-you-go; no-re-registration is required. There will be “black-out” dates during the year due to school events or holiday closures – look for posted notices at the pool. Look for information about SPECIAL HOLIDAY OPEN REC SWIMS, too!

BIRTHDAY PARTIES, YOUTH GROUPS, SCOUT GROUPS and other groups of 10 or more planning to visit during Open Rec Swim are asked to call at least 2 weeks in advance to check the schedule and reserve a space. ORGANIZED GROUPS of 10 or more seeking a weeknight or weekend visit for the purpose of INSTRUCTOR-LED PROGRAMS (e.g. Scout groups earning merit badges or learning aquatics-related skills) are asked to email or call at least 2 weeks in advance to make arrangements. A Certificate of Insurance is required along with payment of a per person fee for use and a fee for instruction (if provided by the district). Visits under this program are limited to 90 mins beginning at 8pm or 8:30pm). This is not Open Rec Swim; it is for training, certification or achievement activities only. POOL RENTALS & SWIM/DIVING TEAM PRACTICES - Yes! The Upper Dublin High School Pool is available for rental – by the lane, by the pool, by the diving board, by the diving well. A Certificate of Insurance is required along with payment of a per person fee for use. SATURDAY MORNING CHILDREN'S SWIM LESSONS (ages 5+) – American Red Cross progressive 1-hour group swimming lessons are offered. Children must be min. age 5 at some point during the program. RECERTIFICATION / CHALLENGE COURSES FOR LIFEGUARDS – Three opportunities to complete the ARC Recertification/Challenge programs are offered for American Red Cross certified lifeguards with credentials due to expire. The new combined ARC Lifeguard/1st Aid/CPR/AED for Lifeguards (revised Aug. 2012) certification is good for two (2) years from the date of issue. The new course includes protocol changes. Additionally, 1st Aid testing is included with CPR/AED testing.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI) COURSE
If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. This 31-hour course will help you teach skills that may save a life, gain terrific work experience as an aquatics professional, earn money or join a volunteer team while you help people learn valuable skills.
The Fundamentals of Instructor Training Course (FIT) will be completed first night of class. Participants will be asked to demonstrate swimming skills in the following strokes: Front Crawl - 25 yards; Back Crawl - 25 yards; Breaststroke - 25 yards; Elementary backstroke - 25 yards; Sidestroke - 25 yards; Butterfly - 15 yards; asked to maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling); and asked to tread water for 1 minute.
Participants will be required to complete practical experience hours as part of the course. Opportunities to assist with instructional programs at the UDHS Pool will be provided. With the approval of the instructor students may arrange to work with other programs.

At least two lap lanes will be available at the following times, except on days the pool is closed due to school events, holidays, vacation, emergency repairs, or UDHS athletics. Circle swimming will be in effect at all times. Please be prepared to share a lane with several swimmers. This is a drop-in program; no pre-registration is required.

UPPER DUBLIN AQUATIC CLUB (UDAC) - Competitive Swimming and Diving
UDAC believes that every child can achieve life-long success through aquatics. UDAC's team-oriented philosophy enables us to provide a nurturing environment for everyone, from novice to national qualifier. Our program of comprehensive skills instruction, along with multiple levels of competitive opportunities, encourages all of our athletes to pursue personal excellence through teamwork in the sports of competitive swimming and diving. UDAC is a member of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and Middle Atlantic Swimming, offering local dual-meet age-group competition (Oct-Feb) plus year-round USA Swimming and AAU Diving training and competition at all levels. UDAC also offers a pre-team program for those children who want to participate in the competitive program, but first need additional work on their strokes, strength and/or stamina.

UPPER DUBLIN MASTERS SWIMMING (UDMS) (ages 18+) Lap swimmers, fitness swimmers and tri-athletes will enjoy structured workouts and stroke technique instruction under the direction of Head Coach Brandon Pierce. UDMS is offered in partnership between the Upper Dublin Aquatic Club (UDAC) and the School District of Upper Dublin. PRIVATE SWIMMING & DIVING LESSONS
30-minute private (one-on-one) lessons offered in partnership with the Upper Dublin Aquatic Club (UDAC); visit www.udac.us to register, pay and select instructor. Lessons are scheduled between you and the instructor once online payment is received. Semi-private lessons are not yet available. On the home page of the UDAC website, view the left side menu, click on UDHS Private Lessons.
WATER POLO (Expanded to Include Gr. 8-12) – Watch this site and posted flyers at the APLEX for the next opportunity to participate in this sport. UDHS Students should also listen for in-school announcements.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS TRAINING SITE
The UDHS Pool is a training site for a Developmental Swim Program and for athletes training to compete in the Special Olympics as part of SPECIAL OLYMPICS MONTGOMERY COUNTY. Athletes train with coach-buddies on Tuesday nights from 7-8pm from October to May. For more information about the program – for athletes and those interested in volunteering as a coach-buddy – please contact the Special Olympics Montgomery County Office at (215) 542-1140.
