Board of School Directors

The Board of School Directors is a nine member political body elected by the residents of the Upper Dublin School District. The Superintendent and District solicitor also sit on the board, but are non-voting members.

Darlene Davis, President

Darlene is a retired educator with over 35 years of experience. Her professional positions included teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal, principal, director of pupil services, assistant superintendent and superintendent. During her career she had the opportunity to serve in Norristown, North Penn, Colonial and Cheltenham school districts.  She has also served on several boards including Carver Community Center, Norristown Communities that Care, and Carson Valley Children’s Aid. 

Following graduation from North Penn High School, Darlene went on to receive her B.S. from Ursinus College, M.Ed from Antioch College, Principal Certification from Penn State University and Ed.D from Widener University. Post-doctoral classes were taken at University of Pennsylvania.

Darlene and her husband have resided in Upper Dublin Township since 1996. Their two sons attended UDSD beginning in Kindergarten and graduated in 2012 and 2016.

Jeffrey Wallack, Vice President

Jeff and his wife, Denise, have been residents of Upper Dublin since 2006.  They have two children, one of whom attends Upper Dublin High School and one of whom is a 2019 graduate.

A product of public education, Jeff received his AB from Princeton in 1990 and his JD from Penn Law in 1993.  Jeff is a principal with the law firm of Post & Schell, P.C. in Philadelphia, focusing his practice on construction law and commercial litigation.

Prior to being elected to the Board, Jeff proudly served both as a director and as Vice-President and President of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.  Jeff’s interests include music, theater and the arts.

Amy Francek

Amy Francek is a 17-year resident of Upper Dublin.  She is a speech-language pathologist in a neighboring district.

Amy has served on the Educational Advisory Committee (EAC), the Gifted Curriculum Review Committee, and UD G&T (Gifted and Talented Students & Families) subcommittee of the Excellence and Equity Consortium within UDSD.

Amy received her Master’s Degree at Temple University and her BA in English at Franklin & Marshall College. Amy has previously served as President of the Alumni Association of F&M.

Amy is the proud mom of two sons (Luke, 8th grade/Jay, 4th grade) at Sandy Run and Jarrettown.  She is married to her college sweetheart Peter and is an avid Philadelphia sports fan that enjoys traveling, cooking, music, and dance.

Michael Henderson

Mike Henderson has been a resident of Upper Dublin Township since August of 2007. He is currently a Director of Engineering for the Triumph Group aerospace firm located in North Wales. His wife, Cathy, is an Account Executive for Tri-County Home Care. They have three children, all of which have or will graduate from the Upper Dublin school system. Their oldest, Ryan, is a 2016 UDHS graduate and now a senior at Villanova University.  Savannah, a 2019 UDHS graduate, is a freshman at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Their youngest, Gabe, will be a 2024 graduate. Mike is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his master’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University. After serving in Germany, as well as in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Mike returned to West Point Military Academy to teach history for 3 years. After his Army service, Mike worked in leadership positions in both aerospace and defense firms as well as in the packaging industry.  Mike looks forward to working together with the school board members to collectively serve the students, families, teachers, and administrators of the Upper Dublin School District. 

Jennifer Iannitti

Jennifer Iannitti has resided in Upper Dublin Township for 16 years. She has four children in Upper Dublin schools and is an active member of the Upper Dublin community. As the Fort Washington Elementary School PTA Vice-President, Jennifer advocated for the needs of socioeconomically disadvantaged students and collaborated with the Equity and Empowerment Sub-Committees to spearhead a guest reader program to elevate diverse voices. Jennifer worked closely with local leaders of the Special Education community to advocate for the inclusion of students with disabilities in both the school district and the community. Jennifer also served on the board of the Fort Washington Swim & Tennis Club. Previously, Jennifer taught in the Central Bucks and Philadelphia School districts. She earned a B.A. from Fairfield University and a teacher certification from Cabrini College.

Art Levinowitz

Art, currently serving his fifth four-year term as a School Board Member, was elected President of the Board in December, 2013. He earned a Bachelor’s degree and Masters degree from SUNY at Buffalo in Music Education, and another Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision from Pace University in New York City. Art holds a Ph.D. from Temple University in the Psychology of Music. He grew up in the lower east-side of New York City and for eight years taught music in Brooklyn, New York. His first love is music and prior to teaching he performed regularly with various Jazz, Latin and Disco bands. He and his family have lived in Maple Glen since 1987 and he is retired from the New Jersey State Department of Education. Art also serves as President of the Joint Operating Committee for the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology. He has been active member of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation where he served as President for over 10 years and is currently a director. Art is also involved at the state level and was recently elected the Vice President of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. He is married to Lili, co-author of the internationally recognized Music Together program, and professor emeritus at Rowan University.

Stanley J. Ropski

Elected School Director in 2017, Stan has been a resident of the township since 1994. His wife Lisa, a 1981 Upper Dublin graduate, is a retired Gifted Support teacher in the District. His daughter Casie is a 2013 graduate and son Kyle is a 2018 graduate.

Stan has been employed with L.F. Driscoll Company, a Construction Management firm since 1979, undertaking various positions including Facility and Equipment Management duties. Stan started serving this community in 1999 as a member of the Township’s Environmental board. In 2007, he was elected Ward 7 Township Commissioner and re-elected in 2011.

Currently, Stan is an Executive member of the Montgomery County Association of Township Commissioners since 2009.

Titia Scherpbier

Titia is a high school mathematics teacher in Lower Merion School District.  Prior to teaching she worked as a biomedical researcher and was involved in the human genome project and cancer research. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and Psychology and an MSc in Knowledge Based systems.  Titia served on the district’s Technology Advisory Committee and the Educational Advisory Committee.  

Titia and her husband, Harm, moved to Upper Dublin in 1989 from the Netherlands.  Their three children are all recent graduates from Upper Dublin. She coached township soccer and field hockey teams and served on several booster club boards.

Mark Sirota

Mark and his wife Michelle have lived in Upper Dublin since 1998. Their two children attend Sandy Run Middle School. Mark has served the District as a member of the Educational Advisory Committee (EAC), Technology Advisory Committee (TAC), Social Communications Policy Committee, and as the vice president of Upper Dublin PAGE (Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education). He has been working at the University of Pennsylvania since 1996, currently specializing in authentication, authorization, identity management, and related information security and privacy issues. His hobbies include photography, motorsports, and skiing.
