About Upper Dublin High School

Upper Dublin High School is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in accordance with the US Department of Education. In 2007, the school was ranked #1 high school in Montgomery Country according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.  Upper Dublin has also been recognized amongst the top 100 in Pennsylvania. Upper Dublin High School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.  The school has a 99%+ graduation rate, and more than 95% of graduates continue on to a two or four-year college.  Upper Dublin High School is represented at each service academy and almost all top universities.

Mr. Schultz is a 1984 graduate of Upper Dublin High School and received his bachelor and master degrees from Lehigh University. His professional experiences include services as a math teacher, math coordinator, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, and, more recently, Assistant Superintendent of Schools


Mr. Christopher Michener, Associate PrincipalChris_Michener

After earning his bachelor’s degree in chemistry education from Penn State University, Mr. Michener taught chemistry at Upper Dublin High School starting in January of 2003. During his time as a teacher, club sponsor, and baseball coach he pursued a master’s degree in educational leadership and a principal certification from Alvernia University. Following a semester each as district technology coach and administrative assistant at Upper Dublin High School, Mr. Michener was hired as an assistant principal in 2010. He was then promoted to Associate Principal in 2013.

Dr. Callahan received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Ursinus College and master and doctorate degrees from Temple University. She taught biology and additional science courses in the North Penn School District for a number of years. Following her tenure as a teacher, Dr. Callahan served as an assistant principal at North Penn High School for five years. As an alumna, she is pleased to have the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal since 2005. In addition, Dr. Callahan is the Activities Director for Upper Dublin High School.


Mr. Daniel Ortiz, Assistant Principal

Mr. Ortiz is a 2002 graduate of Upper Dublin High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in History from Ursinus College and then began his career as a social studies teacher at his alma mater. In addition to his history courses, Mr. Ortiz also taught and coordinated STRIVE, coached baseball and football, served as coordinator for the social studies department, and oversaw the summer school program. After obtaining high school assistant principal positions at William Tennent and Springfield Township, Mr. Ortiz returned in 2018 and oversees the culminating project and community study among his many responsibilities.
