About Sandy Run Middle School

Welcome to Sandy Run Middle School. We strive to ensure all students can access a rich curriculum, a wide array of extra curricular options, and a sense of belonging and welcoming as they grow in such important and exciting middle school years. At Sandy Run, we value the entire learning process and keep students' developmental level at the forefront of our practice. These years are a time for exploration and growth where the school helps students find their way academically and personally.

At Sandy Run Middle School, we serve approximately 940 students in grades 6-8. In each grade, students are divided into three "teams", each of which share the same core teachers for English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This teaming allows for a supportive transition out of elementary school and into a secondary school environment. Teaming allows for greater camaraderie, collaboration, and support for students. We are proud to offer students a full set of "encore" classes annually: Art; Family and Consumer Sciences; Health and Physical Education; Music; Technology and Computing; and World Languages (French, German, Latin, Spanish).

We are very proud of a full team of dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff members whose main focus is to bring out the best in our students and allow them to enjoy a welcoming and inspiring environment in which to learn. We trust that you and your family will experience great success and we look forward to partnering with you during your time at Sandy Run.

Sincerely,

Daniel Ortiz, Ed. D.
