Fort Washington Elementary School

At Fort Washington Elementary, kindergarteners are exploring foundational math concepts through hands-on learning centers as part of the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum. Students rotate through stations where they practice counting and representing numbers, explore the attributes of shapes, and build with manipulatives. These experiences give students opportunities to make sense of mathematical ideas, use objects and drawings to represent their thinking, and talk about their ideas with classmates.
