Students in fifth grade across the District will read "Eleven" by Tom Rogers, a novel that explores September 11 through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy trying to make sense of the events unfolding around him. His story also highlights the kindness and courage he witnesses that day.
Today, teachers introduced students to the historical events that provide context for the novel before beginning their book study. Shown here at Fort Washington Elementary, fifth grade students gathered to begin reading "Eleven" together.
