Jarrettown Elementary School

In art class, Jarrettown Elementary students are exploring the concept of negative space—the space around and between shapes that helps define them. Using Halloween-themed cutouts like ghosts and pumpkins as we head into the spookiest week of the year, they created eye-catching designs with both the shapes they cut and the outlines left behind. A fun and festive way to see how art can appear in what’s there—and what’s not!
