Dear Jarrettown Families,
We are so excited to celebrate our annual Halloween Parade tomorrow! The students have been eagerly anticipating this event, and we can’t wait to see their wonderful costumes and big smiles. To help keep everyone safe and to make pick-up after the parade as smooth as possible, we’ve made a few adjustments this year. Because so many families choose to take their children home immediately following the parade, we’ve created a color-coded pick-up system to help reunite families quickly and safely.
For the parade:
We need you to be good to each other. We will parade each grade one at a time, and will announce grades before they begin. Please allow the families of the parading grade to get to the fence line so that they may enjoy their child and take pictures. Once your child's grade has marched, please step back to allow other families to see their children.
After the parade:
Each student leaving after the parade has been assigned to a color-coded pick-up zone at an exit door.
Staff will escort students to their assigned area and will be there to help connect them with parents.
You will tell a staff member your child's name and he or she will be brought out to you.
Once your child is with you, you’re free to head home—no need to sign out.
There will be plenty of signage on campus tomorrow to help you find your child based on their assigned color:
🟦 Blue Zone – Cafeteria: Students with siblings, last names A–L
🟨 Yellow Zone – Gymnasium: Students with siblings, last names M–Z
🟥 Red Zone – Library: Single students in Grades K–2
🟩 Green Zone – 4th/5th Grade Hallway: Single students in Grades 3–5
Here is a map of the pick up zones for your children
To keep all students safe, parents will need to walk around the building to their child’s designated pick-up area. The back parking lot will be blocked to cars during this time, so please plan accordingly.
Students who are not leaving after the parade will return to their classrooms for the remainder of the day.
We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we work to make this a safe, smooth, and joyful experience for everyone. Thank you for helping us keep our focus on what matters most—the fun and excitement our students feel on this special day!
With appreciation and excitement,
Michael Ridout
